55th Anniversary Beaver Chikalaka

Beaver Scout Group is celebrating it's 55th Anniversary this year, ever since its inception in 1953. Therefore, the Scout Group decided to celebrate this occasion by organizing a Campfire and sharing our joys with our fellow Brothers & Sisters from other School.

This year's Campfire was entirely planned and executed by our Rovers from our new Rover Crew, and it was headed by ASL Arumugam. The Campfire was well attended by over 400 Scouts & Guides from 19 schools. We also had our Brothers from St. Micheal's Instutition, Ipoh who came down to Singapore just to attend our Campfire. They were sure a hit among our Scouts and Guides as many approached them to take a picture.

The Guest-of-Honor for the Campfire was our District Commissioner (Toa Payoh), Mr. Lai Kwok Chin, who kindly accepted our invitation. The campfire was attended by other Leaders from the District and Area. We were also delighted to see our Parents Supporters, who enjoyed the Campfire together with thier Family, and seeing the work of their son's tireless preparation over the 1 month. Thank You Parents.

As there was another Campfire in Catholic High on the same day, many of the schools which were invited had to make a choice between Beatty or Cat. High. We're thankful to those who chose to attend our Campfire, and our most sincere thanks to you and your Group.

It was indeed a very blessed evening that day, as the Scouts and Rovers were very worried with the weather, having seen it turn bad during mid-day. Thank God and Nature, for allowing us to enjoy the spirit of Scouting under the clear skies and warmth of the Campfire.

The Campfire was a success & an achievement to the Scout Group, considering the fact that it was prepared and executed by just 32 Scouts and Rovers. Well Done Beavers, for putting up a good show despite the manpower constraint.
