About the Scout Group

Beatty Beaver Scout Group is the oldest Uniformed Group in Beatty Secondary School having established itself in 1953. Much changes have been seen in Leadership & Program over the past 59 years, but the Scout Unit remains strong and active in Toa Payoh District which its registered with and the School.

Good progress has been made over the years in terms of achievements, despite the many challenges that the Scout Group faced.

Frank Cooper Sands Good Unit (SILVER) Award for 2007, 2008 & (GOLD) Award for 2009, 2010 & 2011. This would be our 16th consecutive years of winning this award.

Gold Award for Central Area Scoutlore Quest 2008

Gold Award for Central Area Camp Challenge 2009

Bronze Award for Central Area Orienteering Competition 2008 & 2009

Bronze Award for National Patrol Camp 2008, which is dubbed as the "Mother of all Competitions", held once every 3 years

SILVER Award for National Patrol Camp 2011

2 x SILVER Award for Toa Payoh District Backwoods Cooking competition (2nd and 3rd Placing)

3 x Bronze Award for National Exploration Challenge 2011

What is the Frank Cooper Sands Award ?

The Frank Cooper Sand is an award given out by The Singapore Scout Association annually to recognize Scout Units on their efforts to provide a quality Scouting Program to their members.


The award criterion is based on many aspect of a Scout Program offered by the Unit. Units are assessed on their Unit Membership, Scout Training Program, participation in Annual Fund-Raising, Overseas Exchange with Scouts, Achievements in Competitions, Service to Community and many other minor criterion.

Since the inception of the award in 1996, Beatty Beaver Scout Group had been receiving it for 16 years consecutive. A record not made by any other UGs in Beatty Secondary School.
